Homey Pro Review a Universally Compatible Smart Home Hub

Tired of bothering yourself with the many applications and hubs of your smart home? Gather them under a single Hub, the Homey Pro. It supports more than 50,000 different products.

Upgrading my smart home setup has been on my to-do list for some time. Specifically, I wanted to connect all my sensors, alarms, etc. from different companies to a single Hub. Now I can, with the Homey Pro. This universally compatible smart home Hub offers the control and integration I’ve been looking for.

The Homey Pro is compatible with 7 smart home technologies and in fact works with more than 50,000 products from more than 1,000 brands. This is a rather impressive number of products. So from my IKEA light bulbs to my Nuki smart lock, I don’t have to worry about compatibility.

But it doesn’t just connect to my devices. As a real smart home motherboard, it displays the application of each device and collects data that helps me manage my home better.

Wouldn’t you like that kind of control? Read on for my review of the homey Pro Smart Home Hub.

Universal Compatibility For Smart Home

What I like the most about Homey Pro is its universal compatibility. It works with 7 different smart home technologies, including Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave plus, RF, BLE, matter, infrared and Thread.

This extensive compatibility — which supports more than 50,000 products from more than 1,000 popular brands – means that I can finally bring all my smart devices under one roof. Whether it’s my old Z-Wave Thermostat or the recent Matter-compatible smart plug, Homey Pro does everything without a problem. It’s incredibly liberating to know that I no longer need to juggle multiple apps and Hubs for different devices.

Integration of the material

Another feature that distinguishes the Homey Pro is the support for Matter devices. Matter is the new standard in Smart Home Technology, and Homey Pro not only supports these devices, but extends them with custom features and energy monitoring through Homey apps. This means that I can enjoy all the advantages of Matter, such as faster response times and increased reliability, while taking advantage of the unique and home-specific improvements.

For example, I connected a Matter-compatible smart light bulb to my Homey Pro. It integrated easily and gave me detailed information about my energy consumption. It helps me to monitor and manage my energy consumption more efficiently. In addition, Homey applications allow me to add brand-specific features that are not available on other Hubs. This level of customization and control makes the Homey Pro a true future-proof smart home Hub.

Advanced Hub Performance

In terms of performance, the Homey Pro is a beast. Equipped with a powerful quad-core ARMv8 processor, 2 GB of DDR4 RAM and 8 GB of integrated storage, it offers 3.5 times the performance of its predecessor. This push is evident in the speed and responsiveness of my smart home system. Tasks that used to take a few seconds are now executed almost instantly

The increased performance also means that the Homey Pro can handle more devices and complex automations. I have set up several advanced automation scenarios that the Hub handles easily. From turning on the lights when I arrive home to adjusting the thermostat according to the weather forecast, this compatible Smart Home Hub makes my home more comfortable.
